The West Somerset Railway are excited to announce that Limited Edition ‘Down the Line’ cans of Golden Ale are now available from Minehead cafe and our on-train buffet car.
This ale was specially brewed by Quantock Brewery, to celebrate 150 years since the railway line opened between Watchet and Minehead. The West Somerset Railway are holding a week-long event to celebrate the occasion between Tuesday 16th and Sunday 21st July.
Only 2000 cans have been produced exclusively for this occasion.
Cheryl Ford, Managing Director and Founder of Quantock Brewery gave the following statement:
“We’re very proud and honoured that we continue building this successful relationship with one of Somerset’s foremost tourist attractions by brewing yet another Limited-Edition Beer to mark an important landmark in the history of The West Somerset Railway.
‘Down the Line‘ is the 4th exclusive beer we have brewed for our neighbours.
It’s a fantastic 4.2% classic golden ale using modern English hops. Beautifully crafted and easy drinking with a fabulous taste and aroma.
Only 2000 of these cans have been exclusively produced for this monumental occasion.
This is also testament to the collaborative relationship both parties have built over the past 15 years. We have seen how much value local craft beer has added to the customers’ railway experience.”
Kerry Noble, General Manager of the West Somerset Railway commented “We are really pleased to have been able to collaborate with Quantock Brewery on another bespoke beverage, which has been specially created for our 150-year celebration.”
