The WSR is pleased to confirm details of an additional enthusiast event coming up next month. Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July 2024, will see four different GWR 4-6-0 locomotives in action, hauling a variety of services to an enhanced timetable.
Star of the show will be newly constructed GWR Grange 4-6-0 no.6880 'Betton Grange'. The Grange will be joined by fellow visiting engine Modified Hall 4-6-0 no.6990 'Witherslack Hall'. This will be the final chance to see and travel behind both these engines on WSR metals before they head off to other railways. Two Manor Class 4-6-0s will also run at the event, no.7812 'Erlestoke Manor' and no.7828 'Odney Manor'.
Goods trains, express passenger trains and double headed services will operate. Most services will use the turntable at Minehead and triangle at Norton Fitzwarren to face smokebox first. A special double-headed 10 coach evening round trip will operate on the Saturday evening also.
