Welcome the new year in style and make history with the West Somerset Railway, as we take part in the National Whistle Up which is taking place on 1st January 2025.
The whistle up is a national event organised by the HRA where many heritage railways of the UK will take part. At 12.00 midday all participating railways will sound a whistle to signal the beginning of a year long celebration for 200 years of railways.
As part of the whistle up event we are offering travel from Bishops Lydeard at 10.30 to Williton and return on board a steam hauled service.
Once arrived at Williton, there will be a wait until 12.00 where the whistle up will take place with the running locomotive.
Annual passes, shareholder passes and staff travel passes are valid on this service only however pre booking your seat is essential. If you have one of the listed cards please book your relevant ticket at 0 value. When checking in at Bishops Lydeard you will be required to show your card that accompanies your tickets to permit travel.
